What is ZoomStats?
ZoomStats is a Web Traffic Analyzer. Some other prominent Web Traffic Analyzers alike to Zoomstats are:

  • Web Trends™
  • Wusage™
  • Hitbox™
  • eXTReMe Tracking™
How much does ZoomStats cost?
ZoomStats is completely Open Source meaning its FREE. ZoomStats source code is also FREE. ZoomStats is under the GPL(GNU Public License). To obtain a version of the ZoomStats license please get it from here

Why should I use ZoomStats?
ZoomStats is completely free so if you don't like it or need it you've lost absolutely no money! You will also be helping the Open Source community and encourage the developers to work harder after seeing that their product is wanted, therefore making your product even better.

Will ZoomStats support my server/database/etc.?
ZoomStats is a software for every usage. It will have to support every database known to the world right now. It is not a very hard thing to do, PHP supports quite a lot of databases today and, thanks to the Object Oriented Design, ZoomStats will be able to work with each one of them. Early versions will support MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.

What OS/DB/PHP version/etc. has ZoomStats been successfully run on?
Zoomstats has been run on both UNIX as well as Windows Operating Systems as well as on:
DataBase
  • MySQL 3.23.x
  • Oracle 9.1-9.2
  • PostgreSQL 7.1
PHP version
  • 4.10-4.23
Webserver
  • Apache 1.3.2x

Are you going to have [feature] in the next release?
Well, look at the forums and see, and check in the feature requests section as well. If its not there then enter a feature request but please make sure it's not already implemented in the new versions or in those 2 sections, checking the mailing lists wouldn't be bad either.

How will ZoomStats collect statistics?
There are 3 ways to get the client's data:
  1. PHP file
  2. JavaScript code
  3. Examining the web server's log files
ZoomStats will support all three ways. It is possible because the statistics will actually be held within a database, and therefore the preferred collecting way can be independent from the application. At first ZoomStats will include the PHP and JavaScript method the Sever log files method will come out later.
